The countdown has started, are you ready to meet the challenge ahead?

Thank you for showing your support to Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon by visiting the Marathon Expo held on 4 & 5 Feb 2006 and made the event a tremendous success.  The race will start very soon, for all the participants who trained hard and get well prepared, just give all your best in the coming race and we wish all of you a great success by breaking your personal best!

What's New?
Race Day Information
  • Starting time: The Starting time will be 5:45am to 6:55am for 10km depending on your category, 7:25am for Half-Marathon and 8:15am for Full-Marathon.

  • Baggage Deposit: The baggage deposit area is at Hong Kong Culture Centre for 10km (Men’s Senior 1 & 2, Junior and Master) and at Kowloon Park Drive for 10km (Women's all categories), Half-Marathon and Full-Marathon. Runners must use the baggage bag and tag given and deposit their bags according to the specific time and at least 10 minutes before each start.

  • Starting Place: The Start is located on Nathan Road near Hotel Miramar.  Runners who do not require bags deposit service should go directly to the waiting zone along Nathan road. Click here to see the location map of starting area.

  • Time limit: The time limit for 10km, Half-Marathon and Full-Marathon are 2 hours, 3 hours and 5 hours respectively. Runners are reminded to complete the race within the time limit, as the marathon route must be handed over to police for re-opening to normal traffic by 1:30pm.

  • Finishing area: The Finishing area is located at Golden Bauhinia Square, Wan Chai. Water and food (banana and chocolate) will be given while physiotherapy and medical service will also be available at the finishing area. Click here to see the location map.

  • Baggage collection: The Baggage collection area is at Wanchai sports ground for 10km and Half-Marathon and at Expo Drive Central for Full-Marathon. Runners can collect their baggage by producing the race number cloth at designated counter.

Race Day Preparation

We know you feel excited on the race day but don’t forget to bring along the following items: Race Number Cloth, Pins, Timing Chip, Baggage Bag and Baggage Tag.  To save time in depositing baggage, you can ask your relatives or friends to help you with your bags.

 

Transportation Arrangement

As the first Race will start very early this year, in order to be punctual and arrive at the starting area early, you should keep an eye on the special traffic arrangement on the race day. Please visit the Marathon website and take a look at the special traffic arrangement for more information.

 

 
Runners' Guide

To ensure that you know details of the arangement on the Race day, remember to read the Runner's Guide before you arrive at the Start area. The Guide can be downloaded from our Marathon website.

 

Marathon Weather Forecast

To achieve the best result, you must know the weather conditions on the race day. The weather forecast provided by the Hong Kong Observatory will give you a helping hand. Visit the Hong Kong Observatory to check the weather forecast.

Marathon Highlight Program on TV

If you want to recall the good memory of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon, don’t forget to watch the marathon highlight program on TVB Pearl at 6:25pm to 6:55pm on 12 February (Sunday) and on TVB Jade at 11:05pm to 11:35pm on 16 February (Thursday).

 

 
Marathon Photos

Your unforgettable moments in running the marathon will be captured in photos. Runners can view and purchase their own personal "moments" while in actions at www.Marathon-Photos.com from 15 February onwards by searching with their names or race numbers.
